Homesick: FemTV Remembers the Gainesville Student Murders

(Super 8, Fisher-Price Pixelvision, 8 minutes, 1994) Elizabeth Coffman and FemTV

FemTV, a women's group formed by graduate students at the University of Florida and Gainesville artists, responded to the 1990 serial killing of 5 students by Danny Rolling in Gainesville, Florida. They interviewed detectives, police psychics, and went to the spot in the woods where the killer camped. Homesick explores the logic of serial violence in the media and the rhetorical nature of profiling, detection and intuition in crime-solving.
